What is Biotechnology?

Biotechnology (commonly abbreviated as biotech) is the broad area of biology involving living systems and organisms to develop or make products, or "any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms, or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use"

Biotechnology is the research and development in the laboratory using bioinformatics for exploration, extraction, exploitation and production from any living organisms and any source of biomass by means of biochemical engineering.

What is Masters Degree?

Admission Process(Indian Applicants)

THROUGH ENTRANCE TEST conducted by various institutes individually.


The question paper will be divided into two parts: 



  • Part A will comprise questions from Biology
  • Part B will have questions from Chemistry.
  • The students will have option to answer questions from either part A or part B.
  • Each question paper will contain 100 multiple choice questions to be attempted in 120 minutes.


Foreign/NRI/NRI sponsored Admissions:

The eligibility for Foreign/NRI/NRI sponsored candidates is 40% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.

Admissions are based directly upon the merit.

No Aptitude Test  required.




The following documents are required for admission against Foreign/NRI/NRI   Sponsored seats:

1.Original Certificates/ Marksheets of the qualifying   examination.
2.Attested photocopies of the Passport and Visa of the NRI  Sponsor of the applicant
3.Foreign Bank Account Number or NRI Account Number   of the NRI applicant or NRI Sponsor of the applicant.
4.Declaration regarding, Non-Resident Indian status of the NRI applicant or NRI Sponsor of the applicant.
