What is SATAC ?

SATAC is the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre. SATAC administer the application process for Australian and international students completing an Australian year 12 qualification in Australia or overseas, or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in Australia.

SATAC also process many postgraduate applications for Australian students.

SATAC defines you as an international year 12 applicant if you are in either of the two categories below. If you are an international year 12 applicant you must apply online through SATAC.

Category 1 : International applicants enrolled in Australian year 12 programs in 2019.

If you are enrolled in any of the Australian year 12 programs listed below either in Australia or overseas (offshore) in 2019, you are an international year 12 applicant:
  • South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE)
  • Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET)
  • ACT Senior Secondary Certificate (ACT SSC)
  • NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC)
  • Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
  • Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE)
  • Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)
  • Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE)

Category 2 : International applicants enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program in 2019
If you are enrolled in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program in a school in Australia in 2019, you are an international year 12 applicant.

All other international applicants

If you are not an international year 12 applicant according to the definitions above - for example if you are enrolled in an overseas year 12 program or you are a current tertiary student - you must apply direct to the universities in which you are interested. 

English language competence for Charles Darwin University courses

In most circumstances, successful completion of an Australian year 12 program, or the International Baccalaureate Diploma where English is the language of instruction, meets the English language requirements of the University. 

Offshore applicants may need to meet additional English requirements depending on the course in which they apply.

The universities require international applicants to meet minimum standards of competence in English as part of the admission requirements of each course.

Graduation

IELTS Academic ModuleA minimum overall score of 6.0 with no band less than 6.0

Cambridge Advanced English (CAE)A minimum overall score of 169, with no skill below 169

TOEFL Internet-based Test (iBT)A minimum overall score of 60 and a minimum writing score of 21

Post Graduation

Applicants under 18 years old

If you are under 18 years old on 1 February 2020, Charles Darwin University will require you to meet additional requirements before you can be made an offer for entry in semester 1 2020.

The scholarship is provided with the name of CDU Global Excellence Award.Its is meant for candidates who are looking to pursue an undergraduate or post graduate degree course from CDU.

What you will receive:

You will receive 50% of the tuition fee for the first year of study and 10% in subsequent years till the completion of the course.

What should be the eligibility:

  • Degree classes should begin  in 2020.
  • The university academic requirements and English language requirements for the chosen course should be met.
  • Applicant must have a minimum overall score of 80% in their highest completed qualification.
  • Applicant must be an international student on a student visa.
  • Applicant should not be receiving another scholarship from an Australian or foreign agency.

What is the application process:

Step 1: Go to the website of the university and decide the course.
Step 2: Register yourself on university website.
Step 3: Look for the academic requirements of the course you have chosen.
Step 4: go to the scholarship section and apply for the scholarship.
Step 5: Download the application form and two referees reports layout.
Step 6: Write up a statement (up to 500 words) outlining why you should be awarded a scholarship.
Step  7: Fill up the two referees reports (academic or professional) supporting your scholarship application.
Step 8: Submit the documents prepared in above two steps on the university website.

For how long will you receive the scholarship?

You will get the scholarship from your admission into the course till any one of the following criteria has been met:
  • The maximum Scholarship value has been exhausted;
  • You have completed your course;
  • You no longer meet the ongoing eligibility of the scholarship.

What is the ongoing eligibility of the scholarship?

  • Maintain a full-time enrolment of 40 credit points (0.5 EFTSL) each semester.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress each semester with a minimum GPA of 4.5 and with no fail grade in any unit.
  • Pay their portion of the tuition fees on or before the payment due date (first day of teaching) of each semester.
  • Continue to be an international student liable for international student fees.
