The country has made a big leap in the area of ​​research.The number of PhD in India has doubled over the years, which is shocking.According to the recent report, there has been a double increase in the number of youth doing research in the last 5 years.

However, reason of this increase, this trend regarding research, is the efforts of the government.This government has been continuously working towards increasing the extent of research based curriculum across the whole country.

In the last budget, the government announced establishment of a national level research centre to further increase the number of persons doing Phd in India.

Apart from this increasing the research grant was also a priority under which the JRF grant has been raised from INR 28000/- to INR 31000/- to help those who are pursuing their Phd in India.

That is, in 2014-15 21 thousand students were awarded Phd yearly,the number was 24 thousand in 2015-16,28 thousand in 2016-17,34 thousand in 2107-18 and 41 thousand in 2018-19.
